Water
Water when the top inch (or more for large pots) of soil feels dry. Soak until water runs from the drainage hole, then let the soil dry again. Avoid constant wetness and empty saucers after watering. Frequency depends on plant, pot size, and season-the ePlant app can remind you.
Light
Match the plant to your space. Bright indirect (near a window, no direct sun) suits many tropicals; medium light works for pothos and peace lily; low light is only for a few tough species. See our lighting guide for details.
Soil and Pots
Use a well-draining mix suited to the plant (e.g. cactus mix for succulents). Pots must have drainage. Repot when roots fill the pot-usually every 1–2 years. See our repotting guide.
Feeding and Problems
